I'm thinking of putting up photos I've come across for different icontests. Hi-res images of people, movies, and places. But that would likely affect the people who have friended the journal moreso than it would me, and I don't want to bother anyone with entries. So what would you guys think if I did that? Would it bother anyone?

3:23 pm - Texture Set II - Broadway Under the Stars
|
While in New York, I had the pleasure of seeing Broadway Under the Stars in Central Park. Since it was night, not all of the pictures came out focused. Waste not, want not, I thought. And out of those pictures, I got 70 icon textures. They cover everything from the stage, to the skyline, the crowd, to the fireworks show at the end. One mask snuck in. I hope no one minds.

I'm in the middle of exams, and apparently, when I am supposed to be doing schoolwork, I make lj icons instead. I've tried something new this time around with the coloring and all. I like the effect overall, but I'm not sure anyone else will. Just thought I'd warn you guys.

And just to go ahead and say so, if this new technique works or not, I'd be honored if you could let me know. I like it, but I don't want to friends-list spam people with it in the future if they don't think it works. And... bases. I am allowing people to make bases of the icons I make, I just really want credit if they do that, because none of these are actual bases, but I can understand if they want to build upon them.
What else... Ah. All of them are up for grabs. Comments are love, credit isn't necessary. And I think the number of friends I've gotten has doubled or something this year. Friending, though, isn't necessary. Just love. I'll be happy to answer any questions about who took the pic, where it came from, can I post it for you, etc. Happy to help.

I have been silent for a very long time, it seems. School has started, studying for the GRE has started, and one of the groups I mod (not a journal group, an RP group called  negability) has really taken off. I actually haven't done the dishes in a week, and am eating with plasticware, paper plates, and paper towels. Yes, I'm drinking out of paper cups, too. How'd you guess? I've been sitting on these for a while, planning something I want to call Austen Overload, but then my graphics program decided to be cranky today, and I won't be able to repair it for... I don't know. (It's all right; whenever I try to use the brushes, it crashes, but other than that, it's fine.)

I haven't been completely dead, it's just finals. It turns out the teachers actually expect us to learn something while we're here, but I've sneaked in an icon here and there. Now, though, I finally have enough icons to justify a post. Maybe too many. C'est la vie.
And thank you, newfound friends! Every time I see people have friended me, it makes me feel warm and glowy inside.
